Acabo de asistir al Webcast:

Joe Turick joined Microsoft as a support professional in 1997 and for most of that time has been a member of the Exchange Client team. He supports not only Outlook and Outlook Web Access, but also components such as Exchange Instant Messaging and Exchange Conferencing Server.

En el se ha tratado el tema de resolución de problemas en OWA y diferentes opciones de configuración.

Primeras opciones a comprobar cuando tenemos un problema con OWA:

- Permisos, permisos, permisos !.
- Probar con varios PCs y navegadores.
- Probar con una cuenta recien creada o creada para pruebas.
- Asegurarnos que IIS sólo usa Autentificación básica.

A tener en muy en cuenta: Cuando cambiemos algún parámetro del servidor virtual, tenemos que hacerlo desde la herramienta de administración de Exchange; si usamos la consola de IIS, los cambios se eliminaran de la Metabase de IIS cuando Exchange actualice las opciones del servidor virtual.

Conviene leer los errores que recibimos del navegador (401, 404, 500, 503, etc) ya que nos darán una idea de por donde pueden ir los problemas.

Conviene comprobar la hora que tenemos en nuestros sistemas y que estén sincronizados con algún controlador del directorio activo; si hay una diferencia mayor de 5 minutos, el sistema no nos dejará acceder a OWA. Esto es debido a la autentificación Kerberos !.

Si obtenemos una página en blanco o "cargando", suele ser debido a puertos no abiertos en el Firewall o que hemos ejecutado URLScan con la configuración por defecto; lo que deshabilita OWA.

Hay que intentar determinar si el problema es de Exchange o de IIS. No siempre es problema de Exchange !

También podemos usar varias herramientas para comprobar el funcionamiento de OWA:

- ExchDump (con el parámetro HTTP).
- Network Monitor.
- Visor de sucesos.
- IIS Logs.
- Diferentes navegadores (IE, Netscape, etc).

No olvidar actualizar los servidores Front-End antes que los Back-End para que el OWA siga funcionando.
